Todd A. Peavy, MD

I am 63 and I have been seeing Dr Todd Peavy for over 30 years at least. He is the Best to me. He has done so much for me and now with MDVIP, he gets to do more because he is not rushed. I used to walk out and say oh I forgot to ask him about this. Well not the case any longer, he has more time to spend with me and I don’t forget something I wanted to ask. When I was called about him going to MDVIP, and all they would do and how you could call him if you were on vacation and he could find you a Dr., there was no question with the extra money and all it was well with it to me. He’s not only a Dr. to me but a friend. I would accidentally call him on his cellphone (we all know what that’s called) and he would call me back. He is a very knowledgeable Dr. he just couldn’t tell you sometimes everything he wanted because he had a waiting room full of patients. Now when I go he has time for anything I need to talk about. I don’t feel rushed so I don’t forget everything I wanted to ask. He is a very knowledgeable Dr. and you might not have thought that because of time. He answers all my questions and knows just what to say or what needs to be done. I wouldn’t change Dr.s for anything. HE IS THE BEST and so is his staff.

Dr. Peavy he is out standing on keep me ln good health and me inform on what i need do to keep me safe.

It was August 27th, 2020, when the worst Hurricane that I have ever witnessed landed on the shores of Cameron, Louisiana. everyone within a 50-mile radius was without power in their home, if they still had a home. My Doctor, Todd Peavy put his own tragedies aside and approximately a week later came back to a town that was all but destroyed to open his clinic/office to treat patients, write prescriptions and to see if his patients needed anything medically. In my opinion that is a doctor that is on top of the National Doctors' Day list.

“Hippocratic Oath: One of the oldest binding documents in history, the Oath written by Hippocrates is still held sacred by physicians: to treat the ill to the best of one's ability, to preserve a patient's privacy, to teach the secrets of medicine to the next generation, and so on.” 🏆 Dr. Peavy is a doctor who embraces the hypocritical oath. He CARES for his patients. He attends to his patients. This is Dr. Peavy: I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant: I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow. I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures which are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism. I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug. I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery. I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God. I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick. I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm. If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help. —————— When I received the notice of transitioning to MDVIP, my first words were, “I will do anything to stay with Dr. Peavy. He’s been my doctor since his residency. I will apply for loan if I have to.” Luckily, I did not have to get a loan for payments. But there is more to this story to explain why he is the benchmark for all doctors. He ensures that his patients receive a welcoming staff. He understands that it takes a team to create an efficient & effective environment for the benefit of his patients. If you have EVER answered phone calls as a receptionist, you will understand what I’m saying. Especially if you’re answering calls from people who are sick. I’m sure not many of them are enthusiastically HAPPY about calling the doctor’s office when feeling sick, and it is most difficult to pretend to be nice. However, when you hear his receptionist (A) answer your call, you can sense the smile on her face. It’s so much of a relief, you almost start to think you’re feeling better. I know I do. So thank Dr. Peavy for hiring her, A.🏆. (IDK if I can say her name). Then you go to your appointment, and you’re greeted by A, and then his nurse, B 🏆. You can see she’s smiling, and that adds a little more relief. And she doesn’t just plop that balance weight to the far right when you step on that scale. She starts low. Now you’re feeling a LOT better. Then you meet with 🏆Dr. Peavy. NOT ONE TIME did he rush me through my appointments, and that alone is deserving of an award on his part, dealing with me...yap,yap,yap,whine,whine... So, I have something to say to MDVIP, I hope you can uphold the same responsibility, with great humbleness and awareness as Dr. Peavy and his awesome staff does. Big shoes to fill.... Thank you for a lifetime & a lifeline of service, Dr. Peavy and staff, for without you, I don’t know what I would do. BTW, none of you can retire without giving me a 2 year notice. 😊
