After almost 3 years during COVID, I went to Dr. Cox for a physical. It was August, 2023. I thought the appointment would be positive, as I had lost 20 pounds abstaining from sugar and beer. At 5'8" I was still heavy at 187, but off my peak of 207 in 2020. A week after my blood draws, I went in for my "good boy" appointment.

The first thing Dr. Cox told me was that I was diabetic based on my 8.5 A1C. Next, my cholesterol was high, and I needed a statin. An hour later after receiving diabetic counseling and a metformin prescription, I asked Dr. Cox if we could put the medicines off 90 days to see what I could do with diet and exercise. Dr. Cox agreed and gave me nutrition and exercise advice.

I followed the advice exactly. 90 days later, I was 150 pounds, and all my labs were normal. 18 months later, I am steady at 155 with all normal cholesterol and A1C. No drugs. My habits are now ingrained. The best advice was to weigh every day at the same time and record my weight.

Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me and making drugs the last, and not the first result. My 30' waist required new clothes, but some 38" waist men in need of clothing can find mine at Good Will.

Dr William Cox has exceeded expectations as to our care. Byron has inoperable lung cancer and other complications that have become quite complex. Dr Cox can dive into the data from 10 specialty doctors and multiple clinic and hospital visits, then provide the specific care needed. When his lung catheter needed draining, Bianca (Dr Cox's Nurse/Wife) assisted me. This was on Christmas Eve. That exceeds expectations. I have been a patient of Dr. William F. Cox since September 2001 and through the years have really appreciated all his advice, health care and attention to any concerns that I have had in the past. He has always taken time to any concerns and referred me to specialist when needed. I really appreciate his guidance in helping me age gracefully through the years and reach the age of 86 and continue to stay healthy. He is a number 10 in my mind.

Dr Cox is a caring person by nature. He is genuinely interested in the well being of his patients. He takes the time to listen and always discusses all aspects of the issue at hand. He goes out of his way to talk to you and understand the problem even if you feel it is a minor one. For example, recently I had an eye infection and called his office to prescribe an anti-biotc for me to pick up at the pharmacy. Most doctors would have just signed off on the prescription and sent it in. Dr Cox called me to understand how I was feeling and explain what he would prescribe. He told me how to apply the prescribed ointment and how to avoid spreading the infection to my other eye or to someone else. That showed me how Dr Cox is prepared to go the extra mile for his patients.
