My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Practicing good medicine includes a close partnership between doctor and patient. As your primary care physician, my goal is to provide personalized medical care that emphasizes prevention and wellness. My MDVIP-affiliated practice allows for more time to develop closer relationships with my patients. We are then able to work together to create a customized plan of care that better addresses important aspects of health, from the simplest concerns to more complex medical issues. And with 25 years of experience practicing in the Howard County community, I have created relationships with multiple specialists and institutions.

Internal medicine is my passion, and in addition to being your internist, I have interest and experience in diabetes, cardiovascular health, hypertension and preventive medicine. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.

I see patients at my Columbia Medical Practice office and am affiliated with Howard General Hospital.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Saway

from D F in MD March 26, 2024 for William Saway, MD, FACP

A friend had a bad experience with his physician, called us and asked how my wife and I felt about ours, Dr. Saway. We highly recommended him. They decided on several "meet and greets", as they were already MDVIP members. After meeting with Dr. Saway they decided there was no reason to continue with the other "meet and greets". Aside from his demeanor, credentials, his understanding,… See more

from Charlene in MD March 10, 2024 for William Saway, MD, FACP

Dr. Saway has saved me on several occasions, but two stand out. When I first met him years ago, he diagnosed me with hypertension. My previous doctor was treating me for migraine headaches. So grateful that he most likely saved my life.
Secondly, I was going thru a very stressful time and he wrote a note to my job that allowed me to take a 3 week leave of absence.
One more thing… See more

On October 22,2023 my 102 year old father died. When Dr. Saway comes in he always say how glad he is to see me and how life is treating me before asking me about my physical condition. I told him my father had died. Dr. Saway was very sympathetic and encouraged me with such kindly words. Dr Saway enters into the feelings of others. Weeping with those who wept and rejoice with those who… See more

My original Dr was Dr. Marshall Freidman and I inherited Dr. Saway after his passing. I could not ask for a better doctor to take his place as Dr. Saway is kind and explains my health in details and I feel comfortable talking to him. He gives good advice and I can count on him for any matter with my health.
Any emergencies he responds back in a timely manner and is right on time… See more

Dr. Saway has always been a trustworthy, compassionate and competent doctor and friend. It's amazing how he knows how to get my blood pressure down by his calm presence. I feel that I can tell him about any problem I may be having, and he never discounts it or makes me feel silly for asking. He has been my internist for over twenty years, and there was never a doubt that I'd stay… See more
