About Carmen I. Teague, MD, MC
My passion as an internal medicine physician is to help my patients find healing and hope. I believe that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and a key to wellness is combining physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual health. My goal is to partner with you in creating a personalized health plan to address current health issues and assist as you seek to prevent new ones. I can support you in making informed decisions as you pursue your goals, whether that’s running your first marathon, improving your nutrition, potentially decreasing your medication use or trying to conquer your anxieties and fears.
You will be treated like my family in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Unlike the experience in many volume-based practices, I have more time to focus on you and your health and discuss your questions and concerns. And I offer same-day or next-day appointments with minimal waiting.
I believe that my 25 years of experience as a general internist and a counselor can be helpful to you in your health journey. In addition to my interests and experience in diabetes, cardiovascular health, hypertension, preventive medicine and women’s health, I have spent years building relationships with specialists in this community. My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.
My primary care practice is located in the heart of Charlotte, North Carolina, in the South Park area, with easy access from many Charlotte ZIP Codes.

Reviews from the web
Dr. Teague spent over one hour to discuss her assessment of my test results and how they impact my health as a whole. Traditional providers treat each ailment in a silo and overlook how one may trigger or relate to the other. And, unlike other providers, Dr Teague patiently explained the test results and flagged things to monitor or that require attention.
When you see Dr Teague, she won’t simply ‘farm you out’ to specialists without first evaluating your overall condition and taking time to discuss concerns, then take the wisest course of action.
Dr. Teague is not only expert in the practice of medicine, she has a heart for my well-being. When warranted, I actually talk to Dr Teague when I call the office with a medical question; no more waiting for a call back.
And…she’s smart, warm, funny, and easy to talk to. Her office is warm and peaceful, just like her staff. I hate driving but will drive across town to be her patient.
Frequently Asked Questions
MDVIP-affiliated physicians use the Wellness Program Plus to help prevent little things from becoming big things – working to help patients enjoy life and be healthier. Those who value their health will appreciate having a closer doctor-patient relationship. Because MDVIP-affiliated physicians have smaller practices, they have more time for you, so you can receive the individualized care and service you deserve. Physicians offering the Plus program have a different set of testing to choose from than physicians in the traditional program; this testing looks at additional health risks. Plus doctors also use an advanced cognitive testing system to evaluate brain health and offer a medication review program.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
