About Mark Galbraith, MD, ABFM
Good communication, I feel, is at the heart of individualized medical care. I believe listening closely is among a physician’s most important tools, and I strive to help every patient feel heard and know that I want to be actively involved in their care. I think practicing good medicine begins with a partnership built on mutual trust and respect that is earned over time.
As an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician in Southern Orange County, California, I focus on
personalized, preventive medicine that helps patients as they pursue leading healthier, more active lives. Having more time with each patient allows me to discuss their medical history in depth, perform exams, and create individualized plans that can support them as they work toward long-term health and vitality.
I am honored that many patients travel from North Orange County, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties - and even from out of state – for care. My areas of interest include cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension, nutrition, weight loss, and musculoskeletal injuries, with an emphasis on sustainable lifestyle changes that can support improvements to overall well-being.
My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health
screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine
practices.
A former college athlete and defensive end for Oklahoma State University’s football team, I
served for 27 years as team physician for Saddleback College’s football program, helping
athletes recover and work to perform at their best. I am affiliated with Providence Mission Hospital Mission Viejo, where I previously served as chairman of family medicine. I maintain relationships with specialists throughout the community to whom I can refer patients, if needed.
When I’m not caring for patients, I enjoy time with my wife, four children and seven grandchildren. I stay active with paddleboarding, bicycling, and weight training – living the healthy lifestyle I encourage for my patients.

Frequently Asked Questions
MDVIP-affiliated physicians use the Wellness Program Plus to help prevent little things from becoming big things – working to help patients enjoy life and be healthier. Those who value their health will appreciate having a closer doctor-patient relationship. Because MDVIP-affiliated physicians have smaller practices, they have more time for you, so you can receive the individualized care and service you deserve. Physicians offering the Plus program have a different set of testing to choose from than physicians in the traditional program; this testing looks at additional health risks. Plus doctors also use an advanced cognitive testing system to evaluate brain health and offer a medication review program.
MDVIP makes wellness and prevention easier by providing your physician with innovative tools and technology. MDVIP supports your physician’s practice and seeks to eliminate barriers to a positive healthcare experience. Your doctor will determine whether and how to incorporate these tools at his/her discretion.
Most MDVIP-affiliated primary care practices accept insurance (your physician can tell you whether they accept your specific insurance plan). Your annual fee pays for preventive care medical services that insurance usually doesn’t cover (e.g., advanced diagnostic testing and screenings). Your MDVIP-affiliated physician will continue to bill your insurance and charge copays, co-insurances and deductibles as he or she currently does for other medical services like sick visits.
