MDVIP Ambassador Valian Noris
Valian Noris, who works for MDVIP affiliate Dr. Brenda Minor in Danvers, MA, is an MDVIP Ambassador for going above and beyond the call of duty and making her patients feel welcome, valued and loved.
Noteworthy Nominations:
It is with great pleasure and pride that I nominate my medical assistant Valian Norris to the MDVIP Ambassadors Club. Valian has been with me for the past three and a half years and from day one I have appreciated her work ethic, intelligence, commitment to the practice and to me, and her tremendous empathy and kindness. Even my highest daily expectations are surpassed. In addition to be a great skilled all around medical assistant, she has an interest and enthusiasm for health coaching and spends 1-2 hours with each patient during the Part 1 exam. She listens to medical podcasts on the way to work to be better educated about a variety of medical subjects. She has prepared packets on several topics including starting a walking program, the Mediterranean diet, avoiding tick bites/Lyme disease, and anti-inflammatory diets. She attended a 3day diabetic conference sponsored by Harvard so that she could better coach our diabetic patients. She spends a great deal of time on the phone triaging and encouraging patients, providing them with the care they need until I am able to call them.
Examples of her extraordinary specialness include spending several hours during a snow day with an elderly patient of ours who was without electricity. She visited another lonely elderly patient in the hospital bearing flowers and magazines. She purchased and delivered a pedometer, refillable water bottle and fanny pack to carry the water bottle in to a patient handicapped by Huntington’s chorea so that he could keep hydrated while he exercised (using his walker). She delivered a nebulizer machine to one of our patients with advanced COPD and lung cancer when the agency was unable to deliver the same day. All of these acts of kindness were done on her own time. These are just some of the examples of her extraordinary commitment to our patients and our MDVIP practice. I highly recommend her as an MDVIP ambassador.

Valian Norris is an exceptional Medical Assistant. She is patient, kind, and caring. Valian takes the time to personally sit down with all of Dr. Minor's patients and go over the portal with them, especially focusing on nutrition and exercise prescription. She takes the time to sit down alongside them while speaking to the patients and I have seen her holding their hands while coaching them, which I just do not observe very often. Her warmth and dedication to the practice are truly remarkable!
