The catch of my lifetime

At the end of 2020 Dr. Downing caught an unusual rise in one of my bloodwork markers. To keep this brief that number turned out to be a sign of an uncurable blood cancer known as Multiple Myeloma. In March of 2021 it was confirmed. The quick catch by my doctor means I have no bone involvement or kidney issues which are the usual things that signal a problem. Since my Myeloma was caught so early it means I have had treatments at a much earlier stage and am on a maintenance dose of drugs and still active and enjoying my life. It is uncurable and the problem with this cancer is it likes to figure out a way around the drugs and relapse the patient. As for now I am holding steady with my marker numbers and have a much greater chance at a longer progression free survival than people who are diagnosed later after damage has been done. Dr. Downing has always been there for me with medical support and emotional support. My parents who are in their late 80's also see him as their doctor and we all appreciate his attentiveness and care.
