My tribute to Dr. Fleming isn't necessarily about "a moment" but more about a long relationship. When Dr. Fleming announced she was changing her practice model to become an MDVIP physician, I had no hesitation to continue under her care. She was always a great doctor and very proactive about making sure symptoms were addressed, prescribing appropriate medications, and suggesting referrals when necessary. Under the MDVIP platform, she now has more time to not only know the "patient" but the "person." She cares not only about my health, but my life and my family. She knows their names, can't believe how big the grandchildren are getting, tells me how her husband and son are doing, etc. All those things that make you feel like a friend, not just a patient.

She clearly studies my lab work carefully before my appointments and explains them during the visit. When I leave her office, I feel like I've had a thorough exam experience instead of the minimum time to get me out the door and on to the next patient in the cue. I know I can call her almost anytime outside of regular hours and she will either answer or call me back. Her office personnel reflect her style of practice, they either answer or call you back quickly, respond to emails timely, and you are a name when you walk in the door, not just a birthdate. In today's medical world, this type of care is a lost art.

In summary, I wouldn't dream of going to another primary care physician. She told me shortly after she had started with MDVIP that she could finally be the kind of doctor she always wanted to be. I think that has made her an even better physician because she can be happy doing what she does, and it shows.
