Can't remember the exact date I first consulted Dr. Weiss...he was at that time, sharing an office with a number of other physicians. Prior to that I was with an internist who was seemingly unable to control either my diabetes, or hypertension. A coworker suggested to me that she highly recommended Dr. Weiss. After my first appointment, I was convinced, and, after my first physical, decided, even if wait times were particularly annoying, the wait was worth it, for the fact that my issues were being addressed. Once he joined MDVIP, there was no question that my health was well worth this added expense. and, as I continue, you will verify this. I was a prior mastectomy and Dr. Weiss, at the time of my annual physical insisted that I have an FSC, because of my prior cancer history. Although I resisted, he INSISTED and, In 2001, as he performed the procedure himself, he immediately discovered a massive colon carcinoma in my rectum. Although he, at that time, had an office of waiting patients, he called my daughter and waited until she and her husband came, to inform them of my condition. He then, at my request, and his inquiry, paged Dr. Dragutsky, in the hospital. Because I was already prepped, they worked me in to see Dr. Dragutsky immediately. He scheduled a full colonoscopy that day, which confirmed the diagnosis, and Dr. Weiss, after consulting me about my choice, arranged for me to have surgery 2 days later with Dr. Rad Andrews. My path report showed Stage IV colon cancer. Dr. Weiss consulted me for my preferences and subsequently sent me to West Cancer Clinic to consult with Dr. Kurt Tauer. I had 6 chemo treatments, which Dr. Tauer cancelled, Since that time, I have followed Dr. Weiss" Wellness programs, which have resulted in losing almost 90 lbs. and improving my AiC (my most recent was 5.9). and my hypertension has improved so that I was able to discontinue one of my medications. He is so omni present, and knows all my meds by heart. Amazingly, he is aways able to see me right away if it is determined that Is needed. I have a number of problems, and he does not hesitate to address them and obtain consults with other professionals when that is indicated. I do not hesitate to refer Dr. Weiss to any I meet, although he very seldom has openings for new patients. I. recently, at age 88, asked him, if it was possible I could live to 100? He, in his usual jovial manner, told me he was attending the 103rd birthday party for one of his patients. I have hope!
