February 2023 my husband had been having problems with his stomach. Dr Dozier was aware of it and had all kinds of testing done. Nothing showed up. Started to having pain real bad in upper stomach and i called his office to see if he could see him.He told me to come on in. He did Xray in office and then sent him to get a MRI. MRI scan showed his appendix was about to rupture. He admitted him into hospital and he was assigned to Dr. Keith Player. Dr Player came around that night about 10 and told him that it was his appendix and that surgery could wait to next morning. They came and got him about 9:00 am the next morning. Dr Player told us if he could do it laparoscopic it would take about 45 minutes. But he had to cut him because appendix was wrapped around his colon and he had to take about 8” of colon out. Surgery lasted about 4 1/2 hours. Pathology report came back cancer. This was a big shock. He told us he had gotten 9 lymp nodes. But cancer dr said magic number was 12. So he had to take chemo for 6 months. He stayed in hospital for 11 days and lost 27 lbs. most miserable 11 days in his life. Dr Dozier came by everyday to check on him By the way he was our Dr when he first became a Dr. then he went to be a hospitalist at hospital. He decided to go in to practice with MDVIP and Husband and I was one of the first to sign up in that practice. He was also there for me for the couple of times I was in hospital. He is a blessing for husband and me. Great Dr.
