I never actually thought about the need an advanced directive

We are so fortunate to have Dr. Striegel manage our healthcare. A few years ago, he met with my husband and me concerning advanced directives. We were able to document our wishes at a time when we could consider the options in a rational way and filed the documents in the doctor’s system. Through several years of health decline, Dr. Striegel was an irreplaceable resource for my husband as we had to use and understand the services of several specialists. This year, his coronary problems became untreatable. Having the advanced directive readily available helped us through this stage. At the end Dr Striegel gave us support as my husband entered hospice. Words can’t express what his help meant during this horrible period.
