In a day and age where all things are expected to be instantaneous, we find ourselves in an era of hurried demands, hurried schedules, and wearied souls even in the scope of medicine. Our physicians are placed on a never ending hamster wheel of regulations, policies, procedures, and double booked schedules while impatient patients themselves want quick fix medicine. All this leads us to question does old fashion medicine still exist in a high technological world? YES! I can say with both hope and bragging rights, that I receive the good ....what medicine should be and can be.....medical care that was once the common norm in a field of intertwined compassion and knowledge with Dr. Kimberly Davis Seagle.
Having fought a sundry of autoimmune diseases including systemic lupus and myasthenia gravis for nearly nineteen years, my case grows further complex and progressive. The everyday struggles and adventures of Susan impact not only my life but that of my mother, Barbara, and sister Lorri. My widowed mom faces the health issues she too has acquired, and Lorri ,like most, faces the daunting issues of doing life in this hectic world. Yet, Dr. Davis Seagle treats each of us, our health issue and our life issues with the individual concern and compassion of old time family medicine. At this stage in my own journey, this gives me extraordinary peace in the knowledge that her care for my family extends pass the lab results, the exams, the barrage of other reports but also includes the complexity of a family unit dealing day to day with health and heart. Her compassion and support is indeed resemblance of the good Ole Doc Baker days of the Little House on the Praire where your family doctor was more than a medical miracle worker, but a cherished friend who walked the journey of life, no matter where it may lead, side by side and hand in hand. Yes, as long as there are other Dr. Davis Seagles, the hope of old time medicine in a high tech world is not only possible but achieved with grace, support, and love for not only the practice of medicine but for each individual patient for whom she serves. And for this our family is truly blessed!
