My PSA level had been rising, and Dr. Gil prescribed an MRI of my prostate gland in the summer of 2018. When the results came back, he called and told me that there were two suspicious areas identified. He then arranged for me to see a doctor at Johns Hopkins, which I did. A biopsy done at Hopkins revealed that I had an aggressive form of cancer, which hadn't yet spread beyond my prostate, and that I would be given an aggressive treatment to cure it.

Long story short, after 39 doses of radiation and a form of chemotherapy I was diagnosed as being cured in November of 2018. I have been getting bloodwork done through Dr. Gil twice a year since then, and annually meeting with my Radiation Oncologist to review the results. This January, the Radiologist told me that since my results had been fine for 5 years, I would not need to see him again unless any future bloodwork showed a problem.

I'm now 80 years old and feeling fine! Thank you, Doctor Gil, for all you've done to defeat my possible early death!
