My story takes place prior to Dr. Weisman being part of MDVIP and one of many reasons he will continue to be my physician no matter what the cost of my MDVIP membership is, he is worth every penny. Dr. Weisman had been mine, Theresa Howe and my husband’s, Bruce Howe, PCP for many years. My husband was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in 2009. He was hospitalized for many days/months at a time. It was a time when physicians were no longer seeing patients in the hospital as hospitalists were assigned. Regardless, Dr. Weisman continued to go to the hospital to see my husband at least once a day and many times twice a day! In addition, he gave me his personal cell phone # and told me to call him anytime for anything. He was on top of my husband’s care, got him in to see specialists quickly, etc. It was such a difficult/stressful time for my family. Our son was only 13 years old at the time. I remember at one visit of my own, I told him something to the effect that I wanted to feel “la-la”, as my life was in such chaos. His response was “You cannot afford to be “la-la”, you have a 13 year old son you need to take care of. He would not prescribe me anything, he cared about me and my son. He was honest about what to expect but so caring throughout the whole ordeal, I never felt like a both to him no matter how often I called him. When he decided to be an MDVIP physician, I did not hesitate to join. I think he is the best physician and will continue to see him as long as I live. He continues to be available any time and never makes me feel like I am a bother. He tells me to call or text him anytime. I think he is so smart, and I have complete trust in him and in what he tells me. I have the utmost respect for him as a physician and as a person. I consider him more than my physician, I consider him my friend. With regard to the picture(s) I uploaded, I was taking a trip to Antarctica and wanted (not really wanted to but felt like I had to being I was going to be there!) to do the polar plunge and asked him if there was a chance I could die (my now 27 year old son, still needs me! Well, I am sure he does not think so but I still feel like I have a lot to still teach him!), his response was: “Technically yes but not likely!” Well, I did it and I am still here! Thank you Dr. Weisman from the bottom of my heart, for the care you provided to Bruce and the care you continue to provide to me and my son, Wyatt, you are simply put, the best!
