Several years ago, following multiple knee replacement surgeries, Dr. Guy Nee saw me as a patient in his office in Pennington, NJ. I was having increasing trouble gettijng around. Unknown to me, I had contracted the Merser Virus in my left knee. Deteriorating from limping on my left leg, I started using a cane. That worsened to the point where I needed the use of a walker. Pain increased daily. In the office, Dr. Nee saw me immediately and aspirated fluid from my knee which is supposed to be wheaten in color. This fluid was yellow, pink, brown with solids and other “stuff” in it. Dr. Nee told me to go home and get into bed while he had the contents evaluated. I received a telephone call within hours directing me to get to the hospital immediately. The infection was far worse than we thought. This resulted in 3 emergency surgeries which saved my leg and my life. After these surgeries, I was finally able to rsume my life. Without Dr. Nee’s urgent inervention; the hospital physicians and therapists told me not only could I have lost my leg, but stood a great possibility of losing my life.

Do I have a special place in my heart for Dr. Nee? You betcha I do. Thanks Doc.
