There are no words that can express my appreciation for Dr Hunter,s medical care.. . He has made my last 12 years so much easier!
I grew up on a farm when safety was not considered ,,so at age 15 months there was an accident when the fingers on my left hand were cut off. That has not bothered me much but it caused a lifetime fear of doctors and hospitals.. I don,t remember anything about the accident and my parents were told never to mention it
We didn,t see doctors much in those days but when I got into the old one room country school, doctors would come several times a yr to check our vision and hearing. . As soon as they entered the door, I remember screaming and I was always put into the coat room till they left. My mother was in the hospital once when I was 12 years old. Dad took. me in to visit her and I passed out in the lobby.
Thankfully I,ve had good health and not many hospital events but seeing a Dr was always a nightmare. . . When I needed my knee replaced, I considered suicide before but it was so easy that I had fun They didn,t do PT in those days
Several minor things happened but then Dr Hunter became my Dr. Things changed then for after a few visits, I didn,t dread the appointment. He never scared me with news of anything in my check ups and used lots of common sense in discussions about my health. My blood pressure stayed normal when I had appts with him!,,
Now, I,m almost 94 yrs old, in a retirement community in VA and my my family does not want me to drive on the beltway so I can,t have office visits any more but Dr Hunters telephone appts are soooo helpful. He came here once .also.
I had a minor event from a fall last summer and Dr Hunters phone advice was so helpful. .
I am so thankful that I can always get advice and help on the telephone when I need it and his visit if needed . He has made my life so much less worrisome

One example ... I have to have a Dr here on campus so I met her last autumn . She asked lots of questions She asked if I ate my meals here in the dining rooms each day. I said I liked to cook and didn,t like the 2 and 1/2 hrs wasted in the dining rooms so i did not eat many meals in their dining rooms Immediately, she said she was going to notify a psychiatrist to see me to get me straightened out but thankfully she never did!
Sincerely Dorothy Fortna
