The thing I value most about Dr. Gassner is his help in guiding me in making all kind of medical decisions. I have been very healthy through most of my life, so until I got into my 70's I never really had any difficult medical decisions to make. With age things change. The decisions he has helped with range from evaluating the risk vs reward profile of medical procedures, how to determine if I am having side effects from a new drug, and whether I should go to the Emergency room based on some symptom. He has been available 24/7, though I try not to abuse that benefit.
The wisest thing he told me is generally there are 2 types of doctors he met during his time in medical school, residencies etc. Ones who are focused on the Procedures they perform and ones who are focused on the Patients they serve. I am glad he chose to be the later.
I am sure that is also why he chose to be part of a concierge type service like MDVIP, since their fees allow for a much lower patient load.
