Medical Experts Recommend Checking up on Parents’ Health Regularly

An MDVIP-affiliated internist with Reed Medical Group, Dr. Eric Huerter, says adult children—with the help of physicians—can gain a better understanding of their aging parents’ behavior and overall health. “If their problems are mild, sometimes they just need help getting back on track with eating and drinking regularly,” Dr. Huerter explains. However, he says to keep track of other signs that may point to something more serious. “Look for clues of falls, such as furniture that’s out of place. Or, they’re walking from furniture item to furniture item so they don’t fall.”
