My mom has always been active and healthy until this past New Years Day when she tripped and fell, cutting her knee deeply on some rocks. We rushed her to the ER where she got 41 stitches. Our primary care doctor, doctor James Okamoto, immediately followed up with us after we were discharged. And he continued to see us every few days. When my mom developed an infection, Dr. Okamoto advised us to take her back to the ER and her stitches were removed early and she was put on IV antibiotics. Every day I texted with Dr. Okamoto to update him. He was so generous with his time. After she was discharged again after a few days he kept following up with us every few days. He spent a lot of time with us each time and answered all our questions. He was very flexible and let us meet via video call because mom and I came down with COVID and it was also difficult for us to come down to the office because she had trouble getting into my SUV which is high for her to get in. Dr. Okamoto kept in contact with the ER to find out the results of the wound culture to see if the antibiotic was the right one for the infection that she had. Dr. Okamoto is so attentive, caring and knowledgeable. We couldn’t ask for a better doctor.
