Daily help getting me through COVID

During the 2022 Christmas season, my daughter-in-law got COVID from a mid December shopping trip to NY (my son and his family live with me). I had hip replacement surgery scheduled for 1/24/23, and it took 2 months to get that date. I tested positive 12/27. Dr. Anders followed me every day by the portal on my status. After almost testing negative, I had a rebound. He agreed to put me on Paxlovid (I am currently 70), even though there was no data saying it would work. The Paxlovid did work! I tested negative 1/11/23, just enough time to be 2 weeks out from my surgery. The hospital required a PCR test, and I passed along that I had just recovered from COVID. They did the test anyway. It was positive. But, we all know it will be that way for several months. So before heading to the hospital at 4 am, I printed out all the daily messages between me and Dr. Anders and took them with me. I got a call from the hospital not 10 minutes from my house! Sure enough, every station I went to at the hospital asked me about the PCR test and wanted a copy of the emails. I made it all the way through and had the surgery, vital since there was NO cartilage left in my hip joint! Both Dr. Anders and I know the importance of covering all bases in medicine, even the email ones!
