Sunday May 7th while walking my dog I tripped on edge of sidewalk and fell with a thud to my left with my arm extended. Stunned I soon realized my left left was dislocated. I finally got up and walked about 1mile home. We called Dr Saba Sheikh for help. She answered and said since it was Sunday evening the best thing to go to HCGH ER call her office first thing Monday and get appointment. Where they did finally re-located my shoulder. The ER did not offer any pain relief and after THREE tries finally got my shoulder back in place. Got appoint for Tuesday AM where she came and talked with us and offered to send in some pain meds. She then excused herself from room. Came back 10 minutes later telling she had made an appointment with Dr Prevaiz at OACMD for the next day AT 2pm. Got MRI the next afternoon. Saw Dr Pervaiz's PA Evan the next Tuesday. Where he explained I had a massive Rotor Cuff tear and other injuries (basically destroyed my left shoulder) and would need surgery. Dr Sheikh office called to see if I wanted to postpone my MDVIP yearly exam,I as it was scheduled for the that week,I said no. So she followed thru, after blood work and all the testing, with an excellent exploitation of the testing as well as making sure I was doing OK while waiting for surgery date. Dr Prevaiz office called back with date. I called Dr SHeikh office and got appointment the next day She had sent order for pr-op blood work and saw me right after that.. This was not the first time Dr SHeikh had gone above and beyond. Twenty years ago I had tachycardia, she also excused herself from the room ,came back about 15 minutes later explaining she had made appointment with Cardiologist for the next afternoon. He found I did have a problem that needed an ablation. These are just two of reasons my wife and I decided to stay with Dr Sheikh when she moved to MDVIP. I would say we made and outstanding choice.
