Several years ago, my parents were searching for a new primary care physician as both of their respective MDs were retiring/changing practices. I had served on our local hospital board with Dr Richard Bullock and immediately knew he would be a great fit for them. In addition to his high level of medical competence, he worked collaboratively and thoughtfully with members of the leadership team to improve patient care and experiences at the hospital. At about this time, Rich joined MDVIP and I registered my parents for membership. They began their annual wellness exams and were surprised by the depth of care and time that Rich spent with them. Ironically, it was an adjustment for them, never having received such comprehensive care in just a few visits focusing not just on physical care but emotional/mental needs also. Early on in the MD/patient relationship, my mother suffered stroke like symptoms while attending a HS soccer game and while rushing her to the ER, I had Rich on the phone reassuring me that the staff would be ready for her and he would see us there. She had excellent care and Rich lead the way. He has continued to deliver excellent healthcare to my parents to this day. My father, who had been reluctant for a decade to have an audiology consult (for a progressive hearing impairment) has returned to his social personality, storytelling talent while sporting his bilateral (barely visible)hearing aides, a huge improvement to his quality of life. Seeing the excellent care Rich delivered prompted me, my husband Jay and two of my children, Abbey and Ben to join Dr Bullock’s practice, it is truly a family affair. For me and Jay (both in our late 50’s) Rich’s approach to preventative medicine has made us healthier, stronger and enjoying an improved quality of life. Thinking my children wouldn’t need more than an annual physical exam, Rich has now helped my 23 year old daughter navigate familial hypercholesterolemia and my 19 year old son manage and seek care for generalized anxiety. Our immediate and extended family truly feel that Dr Bullock is an impactful part of our lives and the leader of our healthcare journey.
