Emergency Surgery

In early May 2024 I woke up with excruciating pain in my upper back/neck area. My head was locked in a downward position, if you can imagine.
I texted Dr Elman and was seen very quickly.
He had scheduled the normal testing that you expect , first an X-ray, (which did not identify the issue), then an MRI. I received a call from him within an hour of the MRI and was to drop everything and go to an emergency room . I was in a bit of shock and didn’t know where to go. He calmly explained the situation and said he was affiliated with a great hospital in White Plains, NY. He had phoned ahead to alert them of my situation and to be ready. For my arrival. I arrived there 30 minutes later and was immediately on my way to surgery. Prep.
I had contracted Osteomyelitis and had an infection in my C5/C6/C7 vertebrae of my spine.. I had
2 emergency surgeries in 15 days . Spent the next 3 months recovering and began my recovery journey.
It is close to 9 months since my surgeries and I have made great strides with more time to go.
I appreciate Dr Elman and the MDVIP service. I cannot say how it would have gone if I didn’t have access to immediate care response and had to rely on a walk in clinic where I would be a number with out the personal relationship needed during an emergency
