I’ve been going to Dr Erik Hartvigsen for at least 20-25 years. He has always given me the time and attention I needed, long before he went over to MDVIP. He knows me and my family, and I know he cares very much about me, and all of his patients. If I ever have a health issue, he will order whatever tests are necessary to find the problem, and treat it. He won’t stop until it is resolved. On two occasions, before he joined MDVIP, he actually came by my house. Once to check on my dad, and the other to check on my husband. As we all know, that is unheard of these days!

When my husband was in the hospital, the nephrologists ran test after test and could not determine what was wrong with him. They said his numbers did not indicate that it was time to start dialysis, although we knew it wasn’t too far off, and had gotten him a port. Finally a hospitalist did get permission to do a couple of short dialysis treatments, but it was too late, and my husband passed away. I had no idea that he was anywhere near death, and no one told me. When I later described the situation to Dr Hartvigsen, he said that clearly his kidneys were shutting down. I truly regret not checking in with Dr Hartvigsen during that ordeal. My husband was also a long time patient of his, and I know he would have known to alert me to how serious the situation was.

I recently referred a friend to Dr Hartvigsen, and she also thinks he is great. He lets you know that your health and well being are uppermost in his mind, and he will do whatever is necessary to care for you.

Although I’ve said a lot, I can’t say enough about my doctor. I did not want to start paying the MDVIP fees, when he decided to join. But after some consideration, there was no way I was going ti let him, and his excellent care get away. I have come to enjoy all the benefits of MDVIP, and have not ever regretted that decision.
