Dr. Christopher Gelvin cared for my mother for many years until she passed away in 2014 at the age of 92. Shortly thereafter I left my PCP and joined Dr. Gelvin's practice. So I am a second generation patient and am now 74. I chose to stay with him during the MDVIP conversion and was blessed as a result. He knew from my medical history that I had been a life long smoker and when Medicare began approving payment for CT Scans he sent me for one immediately. Shadows on my left lung caused him to refer me to a longstanding Pulmonologist of exceptional reputation in Sarasota. A PET Scan was quickly followed by a biopsy and I was pronounced with stage 3 lung cancer in November of 2021. Chemo, Radiation and Immunotherapy followed. Periodic blood work, numerous Scans and check ups have now found me, two years later, in remission. My dream of seeing my grandson marry will most likely come true. As I said, I am so very fortunate to have Dr. Christopher Gelvin as my physician.
