My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

My goal has been to take care of my patients the way I would want my family to be taken care of. At this point in my career, I see it as my priority to help identify risk markers in an individual and offer guidance to help patients as they strive for longevity and wellness of mind and body. Having raised four daughters with a busy private practice, I have learned the importance of balancing life's busy schedule and prioritizing one's health. Caring for my patients, I feel my own experiences help me empathize and encourage my patients to set healthier goals.

As a primary care physician, I am often the first person who people see with their concerns. Listening and having more time to discuss the needs of my patients is my priority. Together, we can form a plan. I am eager to spend time helping to empower individuals to pursue their health goals so they can be as successful as possible. I aim to educate and break down information so my patients can walk away with a better understanding of what we discussed. I consider myself a diagnostician and life coach, encouraging positive support to a healthier future. I believe living healthier and happier can be more successful with strong personal relationships, and I want to be part of that support.

My areas of interest are longevity, diabetes, cardiovascular prevention, memory loss prevention and stress management. Most recently, with the availability of newer weight-loss medications, I have enjoyed supporting those on their journey to healthier lifestyles and working toward their weight-loss goals.

I believe primary care has gotten more complicated in my 27-year career. The fundamentals are the same, but, in my opinion, the interference in the doctor patient relationship has increased. My MDVIP affiliation helps me to prioritize what I love about my profession. My practice offers services, including comprehensive advanced health screenings, diagnostic tools, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.

Dr. Bannister, you are not just an ordinary doctor, you are an extraordinary individual! I have been seeing you for over 20 years which is very scary but when we have that long of relationship, you get to know each other. You have been by my side in so many chapters of my life and have helped me through so many ways I am sure you are not even aware of. An ordinary doctor would not take extra… See more
