Dr. McCormick saved my husband's life last Fall and that was a life-changing event for our entire family, here and all the way across the country to New England. Within days of that event, I knew I wanted to be her patient, too. From January this year, I have received compassion, concern and care that is thorough and extremely knowledgeable. Now that I am in my later years, I feel secure… See more
My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
As one of the few female general internists practicing in Anchorage, I practice preventive medicine but also love working to manage diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. I have also enjoyed participating in women’s health and geriatrics. I have been practicing for over 17 years in Alaska, spending the last 9 in Anchorage. Teaching is a part of my practice and I am looking forward to participating in the WWAMI Regional Medical Education program in the near future. Professionally, I am very involved in the National College of Internal Medicine (ACP) and will be the Alaskan governor of ACP starting in 2017.
The relationships I have made with my patients over the years are the reasons for my continued happiness in medicine. I am evolving my practice so that this continues in the future.

Having Dr. McCormick as my primary care physician has been a blessing. I have had a challenging year physically (and emotionally) and Dr. McCormick was my rock - the person I could turn to for answers, guidance and reassurance when the rest of the health care system was inadequate and unresponsive. Dr. McCormick was responsive, accessible and available at any time of the day. She was caring… See more
Dr. Julie: I so appreciate your accessibility and unhurried time with me. It is so wonderful to feel like you are important to your doctor, and not just another nuisance to keep the daily schedule moving along. My husband and I are very appreciative to be included in your practice. I also like the holistic approach that is taken in to account, I am made aware of my numbers and I so… See more
Dr Julie is caring, compassionate, thorough, and up on current health issues. She responds quickly to emails and calls. She treats both my husband and me. When my husband had surgery for cancer, it was a painfully long 14 hour wait for me. Dr Julie called twice to check on my husband's progress and to check on me. I respect and love her.
Knowing and showing me that you have my back has changed my life for the better. It's better because now I am not the only one looking out for my health interests, now there is you. Thank you Julie for your superior listening and communication skills. Thank you for really fabulous good, sound judgement and common sense. That, coupled with your knowledge and compassion tells me that I… See more

Dr Julie McCormick is a caring, compassionate care giver, one truly concerned with our health. Both my husband and I are her patients. The day my husband had surgery for prostate cancer was a 16 hour ordeal. Dr Julie called me twice to see how Lynn was and how I was faring. She responds quickly to questions and gives great advice. I have great respect for her as well as a true kinship.
Recent travel out of state left me with food poisoning that required hospitalization out of state. I called Dr McCormick to run things by her because who wants to go to the hospital while on vacation! She answered my phone call immediately, was understanding and encouraged me to do the right action and that was to seek medical attention. just knowing that I could call her if needed gave me… See more
