My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
As a family medicine physician practicing in Arizona for the past eight years, the most rewarding aspect of my career has been the relationships I have developed with my patients and their families. The best relationships are developed when I cross my legs, stop looking at the computer and just talk with my patients. By doing this, I begin to realize I have so much in common with them, which helps in being able to relate to them and having them open up about what is going on in their lives.
This fundamental part of practicing is becoming lost in volume-based medicine, as time is necessary for patients and physicians. When a doctor has the time to really listen to their patients, it makes a huge difference in the care that is provided. As an MDVIP-affiliated primary care physician, I can further enhance building that camaraderie with my patients and take my clinical skills and personal growth to the next level, while simultaneously serving my patients in the way they deserve.
I will be affiliated with Honor Health Osborne and will be serving the Scottsdale, Phoenix, Paradise Valley and Arcadia areas.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Mathews
My wife was diagnosed with PSP a progressive and terminal neurological disease. I am her caregiver and take that obligation seriously and will care for her at home for as long as I live. Toward that end I realized that I had to be more proactive with my own health and explored the benefits of concierge medicine. Through friends I was introduced to Dr Mathews. I met with him and knew he was “… See more
Short story, Dr. Matthews took over the practice of Dr. Paull here in Scottsdale, at first we were a bit apprehensive not knowing what to expect but in a very short time found that as good as we thought the practice was it got better.

I am a patient of Doctor Mahesh Mathews. Dr. Mathews has taken over the practice of Dr. Dana Paull who retired at the end of 2022, and was a wonderful Doctor and good friend. He took wonderful care of his patients and before retiring he went to great lengths to find a compassionate and kind and knowledgeable Doctor to tend to his beloved patients. His final gift to his patients was met with… See more

Dr. Mahesh Mathews was there when I really needed him. I had contracted Covid (last September) and was being pressured to prove it and take immediate action. Within hours of developing symptoms and reporting this to him via his cell phone he was in touch with me, gave me instructions on how best to get test kits and prescribed the appropriate medication. And all this was done on a Saturday… See more
Dr. Mathews is always available for us. As Senior Citizens, it is comforting to know he will respond promptly to our calls and competently review our concerns. He recently visited my husband in the hospital, even tho he was not one of the attending physicians. Just to see if Mal was doing well and receiving best of care. We're very happy to have engaged him via MD VIP after our physician of 20… See more
I was nervous when I found out Dr. Dana Paull was retiring. He had been my Internist since 1990. I wondered how Dr. Paull could ever be replaced but indeed to my delight, Dr Mahesh Mathews arrived. I enjoy the amount of detail he shares during every visit so I know exactly what is going on, why it's going on, and what the detailed solution would be. His availability is amazing.

I am 74 yrs old and have Parkinson’s, Polycythemia and Diabetes. Dr. Matthews has been instrumental in keeping my diabetes under control by checking my monthly numbers and recommending changes in the amount of insulin being taken. He has recommended an oncology specialist who has prescribed medication for this condition thus avoiding the need for phlebotomies. He has also recommended a… See more
