My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I believe the art of medicine is not a solo act. For me, it is about the relationships we build as the foundation of health for individuals, families, and the community. I am a family physician and dedicated to giving my patients the knowledge and tools to help them feel their best. I have a passion for communication and teaching. Over my career, I have worked at many levels within a primary care office from check in to where I am now – a well-established physician in our wonderful community. I have spent time teaching residents and students and was part of the formation of a primary care diabetes clinic. I also have a passion for quality of life and dignity at the end of life as a hospice medical director. Most of all, I have had the privilege and honor of caring for hundreds of families and working to help them get where they want to go.

I look forward to taking the time to provide a more personalized healthcare experience for my patients. I am excited to discuss prevention, as well as wellness. I am able to discuss diet, activity and psychological and emotional health. We can devise strategies to help manage stress, develop better habits and to try to make each day the best it can be. Visits start on time, and you will be able to get more timely appointments. I will work with you to help develop action plans and provide the “why” behind what we do. The journey to wellness should not be traveled alone, and it is not one that should be followed blindly. In my experience, it is a journey where the path is the destination. I hope to be a partner, guide and supporter on your road towards improved health and well-being.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Prendes

from Jeremy in NE March 11, 2024 for Carlos A. Prendes, MD

I had a fatty tumor in my lower back and I reached out Dr. Prendes to see who he would recommend for a general surgeon. He said no need for an expensive procedure, I can do that in the office. So I went in and he was able to remove it quickly and stitched it right up. 10 days later I went in and he got those stitches out. To me that is impressive doctoring. He saved me a ton of money. He… See more

The first MDVIP appointment was fantastic. Dr Prendes was great. My appointment was right on time. I waited less than a minute for Dr Prendes. I had the best visit ever with Dr Prendes. He was very interested and attentive to what I was saying. Dr Prendes was very relaxed and unrushed. He answered all my questions and took care of what I needed. from Robert in NE January 18, 2024 for Carlos A. Prendes, MD

I was having a hard time walking, so I ask my doctor what I should do, he recommended a knee replacement which I did. Another time I was wondering what to do with my heart since I have Afib. He said I should have the watch men installed which I did. I'm good now.
