Raul E. Tamayo, MD

From the time I was 6 years old I remember being totally fascinated by medicine as I frequently visited (or escaped to) a clinic next to my grandparents’ home. As a primary care internist my goal and passion has been to partner with my patients and deliver quality medical services in a highly personal and compassionate manner. For over 30 years of practice, I have enjoyed the privilege and responsibility of being the primary care physician to so many wonderful patients. I feel very grateful and blessed for this confidence and the wealth of knowledge and experience it has provided to me.

I have decided to change my current practice to a more personalized model of adult primary care medicine, concentrating on wellness and prevention, yet also engaging in early detection and intensive management of multiple conditions and diseases. Over the last 12 years, I have received additional training in functional-integrative medicine combining expertise from both traditional internal medicine and functional-integrative medicine into my practice. I strongly believe that combining expertise in both of these areas of medicine continues to make me a more complete physician.

As a result, I have affiliated with MDVIP, a leader in personalized wellness and prevention with a very impressive record. This welcomed change will allow me to focus on getting patients of any age to desired states of optimal health and enjoy new levels of vitality. In order to accomplish this, I will be limiting my practice in order to provide patients the time and resources to focus on their well-being.

I am very excited for this new direction toward precision and predictive, evidence-based medical care that will make our goal of reaching optimal health and vitality a reality. I hope that you will join me on this amazing and exciting new journey.
