While on a mission trip in Uganda, discovered a sore red spot on one leg. In a matter of 24hrs that sore changed to my other leg and grew to a much larger sore red area. I had this once before at home a few years ago so I thought I knew what it was but it has grown so fast and more discomfort than I remembered.
Sure enough, it was cellulitis and it was growing rapidly. I called Dr. Sbat to discuss and show pictures to confirm what I thought was correct.
My doctor said I needed a specific medication to aggressively address the rash that had developed. Problem was, I am in Uganda and medical supplies are not always available. Cellulitis is not a condition seen very often in Uganda, so the medication i needed had to be searched for. it needed to be administered in a series of shots. I would not be able to do this myself so the host of our trip called a friend of his in the medical field to administer the series of medication.
The medicine was found and the local doctor gave the injections and healing started to take place.
Why do I give thanks and appreciate Dr. Sbat so much? He knew exactly the right treatment I needed from halfway around the world. He explained in detail what I needed to do. With the aggressive treatment battling an aggressive infection within a couple days I started to see improvement.
Upon returning home from overseas I made an appointment with Dr. Sbat for him to evaluate and followup.
I am so thankful for the availability and care I received from 5000 miles away and at any hour of the day or night.
I feel confident that without his immediate attention to my phone call well after hours, I would have lost my leg and who know how much more.
Thank you Dr. Sbat!
