John Burpeau’s manner is great.

I took my routine blood test for my annual physical. It showed my creatine levels were abnormally high and an indication of kidney failure. He did a kidney sonogram and we were both concerned since I was a healthy male in my thirties with three kids! Kidney failure was not an option!
I related how we had recently bought a puppy who had almost died - also of kidney failure. We took the puppy to a high end veterinary hospital where they diagnosed him with leptospirosis - probably caught from squirrels. They had treated the puppy with a week of erythromycin and he fully recovered.
John and I discussed this. Could one of us have given the other leptospirosis? (The puppy licked my face and eyes so transmission was there.)

In a hunch he prescribed erythromycin for me. It worked and I have not had any more issues in several decades.
