We have been with Dr. Peralta for many years. It wasn’t so much a particular moment that made us realize he’s a wonderful doctor, but from the very beginning, we could tell he was definitely special and unique. From our very first meeting, he was kind, knowledgeable, and extremely welcoming. I am especially grateful because he helped me navigate my cancer diagnosis and treatment, and I always felt that he was doing for me what he would do for someone in his immediate family, or even himself. When he did call me to give me the news that I did have cancer, he had already made an appointment for me to see an oncologist the following week. That’s just one of the things that makes him so special. Another moment that stands out while I’m writing this, happened during Covid. I had tested positive and I called him in the morning because my symptoms were mild, but I wanted to make sure what his thoughts would be regarding my general health and how long I should stay away from work. I was concerned for the well-being of those near me, especially my husband and my father-in-law. It was early evening, and when he had not called, I figured he was so busy and he would call me the following day. My phone rang at 9:30 in the evening. It was him calling to check on us. Part of me was not surprised, but the other part of me felt terrible that he was working such a long day for his patients. Of course, he answered all our questions and gave us the reassurance we needed during that awful time. My husband and I really trust his knowledge and understand and know he wants us to be healthy in every sense, so we keep moving forward with his advice and encouragement. When I hear stories, and I do hear them more often than I’d like, about friends and family having difficulty with the healthcare system, I am so grateful for Dr. Peralta, our Angel.
