Well, this is probably going to be a long story, because there are several steps along the way to tell it correctly. My husband, Brian and I had done step one of our Wellness Exams, we had both had our blood work done. One day I was seeing Dr. Oesch for an other reason, and Brian was waiting in the car for me, and he got a call from our pharmacy about an issue with one of my medications, so he came to tell Dr. Oesch about it. While he was there, and unbeknownst to me, Brian asked the doctor if we should switch our Wellness Exams, because I was scheduled for knee replacement surgery and Brian's Wellness Exam was in a couple of days and mine was scheduled for a date after my knee surgery . Dr. Oesch said that was a great idea because I wouldn't feel like sitting for an hour and a half a week after having knee surgery. Then, when I was seeing Dr. Oesch for my Wellness Exam and he was going over my blood test results he didn't like one of my blood tests, he thought it showed too much calcium. He ordered a Cardiac Score CT test. I had the test and that very night he called to tell me my score was way too high. As a result, I had to cancel my knee surgery and I started to see a cardiologist and had several tests done. it was determined I needed an angiogram. I had the angiogram and it was discovered I had two blockages, and the cardiologist didn't stent them because she needed to follow a protocol. I saw a surgeon who recommended a bypass and the cardiologist was confident she could stent it in two places. Confused and scared at this point we decided to run the situation by Dr. Oesch. He immediately stepped in and referred me to someone he thought was an expert in the cardiology field. I saw his doctor and last week I had two stents put in. Everything went well and I was assured I did not need a bypass surgery. Without Dr. Oesch discovering the inital problem I might have had knee surgery with a serious complication. I was told numerous times I was a heart attact waiting to happen. My left anterior decending artery was 90 and 60 % blocked. I owe Dr. Oesch so much because he most likely saved me from a heart attack and possible death.
