I was involved in a 12-car pileup on Interstate 10,Thanksgiving weekend. Shaken and standing on the side of a bridge over the Colorado River, not knowing what to do next, I called Dr. Scurria's voice mail and she called me right back. I didn't know if I was hurt or should go to a hospital. Dr. Scurria advised me to go to the emergency department as soon as I could.

It sounds like easy advice, but I needed my doctor to tell me that at the moment.
