I was in hospital for the removal of a cancerous growth at the billial convergence, along with my gall bladder and numerous lymph glands. Post surgery my condition was critical. Ultimately I spent 37 days in ICU. At one point I started to bleed profusely with 42 unites of blood administered in less than 40 hours. The primary surgeon consulted with my Primary Care physical, Dr. John Z. Carter (MdVip physician), to inform him that I would be removed from the constant blood infusion. Dr. Carter objected to that treatment direction and they continued to pump blood into me. It saved my life because of Dr. Carter's intervention.
