Please Dr. Sheff - Do Not Retire

Dr. Sheff has been great. Always available by e-mail, phone, or a same-day appointment. Has been reachable after hours or on weekends.

Special situations over the years come to mind.

2003 – when I first started with Dr. Sheff, a routine chest X-Ray as part of a physical exam came back with a suspicious situation. He called my house, I immediately gathered old X-Rays from Dr. Gill and saw Dr. Sheff immediately.. “Suspicious situation” was consistent with many prior X-Rays.

September 2005 – A hernia repair at Suburban Hospital as an out patient led to bleeding in the testicles. An urgent call to him resulted in meeting him at Suburban Hospital where he allayed my fears. [The surgeon was not responsive to my calls.]

October 31, 2009 – Parts of an apple were stuck in my esophagus. Ambulance came and took me to Suburban Hospital. The emergency room doctor called him and together they discussed my history and the apple was dislodged.

Septtember 11, 2014 – Hours after my prostate removal,. he visited me in the hospital.
