Three years ago I had a raging 103 fever and went to the emergency room of Hilton Head Hospital. My fever was diagnosed as a UTI. After I returned home, I saw that a horrible rash was creeping up one of my legs! Since COVID was raging, and a rash could be symptomatic, I called Dr. Kim Meadows on her cell phone on a Sunday evening. She was very concerned and asked me to take a picture of the rash and text it to her. Her diagnosis was that I did not have COVID - I was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic I was taking for the UTI. She immediately prescribed a different medication, and the rash eventually disappeared. I remember being grateful that Dr. Meadows was so accessible and knowledgeable about what was happening to me. I had never had a drug allergy, so it didn't occur to me that the rash was an allergic reaction and not COVID. But Dr. Meadows figured it out, having looked only at a photograph of my rash. Dr. Meadows is a competent and caring physician.
