In March of 2023 I had my first, and so far only, AFib attack after a perfect storm of stress of designing a house, double pneumonia, dehydration and low sodium. I called Dr. Gray at night, and he recommended that I go to Arkansas Heart Hospital. The cardiologist I saw following my hospital stay kept me on the 3 meds I had been put on in the hospital (1 blood thinner and 2 blood pressure meds). She also put me on a heart monitor for 30 days. The readings for those 30 days came back fine, so I asked if it might be okay to reduce any of the meds. She did not think that was a good idea and scheduled me for a follow-up in 6 months. I researched and found a doctor who had written a book about getting off meds following AFib. I asked Dr. Gray if he would refer me to him, and he read the doctor's bio, agreed that it was good and gave me the referral. That doctor helped me get off all meds in 1 month. Dr. Gray was supportive throughout the process, and I appreciate him very much.
