I appreciate you, Dr. McFadden, for your listening skills. I feel you give me your full attention. This matters when “we” are making decisions about my health and any treatment plan. I joined MDVIP for this kind of relationship with my healthcare provider. It’s very reassuring. I say “we” because recently I went to a new orthopedic doctor. After waiting over an hour, he came in, apologized for the wait, quickly examined me, and gave me a quick assessment. He didn’t want to schedule an MRI which I was expecting. He asked me if I wanted a shot in my joint, which I didn’t, jotted down some orders for p.t. ( which was fine) and left. The orders for p.t. never were processed. I had to call back 2 weeks later to get an apology from his staff and it was then done. I won’t go back to him. I learned my lesson by picking my own ortho that was closer to my home. This service was what I had in the past. I don’t think you would have referred me to him even though he was in this very large, multi office group in Tampa that was suggested for treatment. Dr McFadden, thank you for your listening skills and caring about my health. When the PTD asked when I was scheduled to go back to see this orthopedic, I said he didn’t suggest a follow up visit. I asked the therapist to send you his notes. Thankfully , for three months I’ve gotten much better with an excellent physical therapist. He acted surprised that I didn’t have an MRI. He has been thorough and worked with me first to alleviate the pain. He has taken the time to explain more to me about my condition. He has explained the exercises I need to strengthen my joint. If my chronic condition gets worse, I’ll drive the distance to the orthopedic physician you recommend and have been assured by the PTD that they will be there if I need them. Next week I will complete my therapy. I’ll see you soon. We can discuss if any future treatment is needed. I know you will take more than 4-5 minutes examining me and asking questions to improve my health. This is why I appreciate you. Thanks for listening.
