We have been patients of Dr. Swanson since about 1992. In '93 my husband had a heart attack at age 51 and subsequent double bypass. He was diagnosed with diabetes at that time. Dr. Swanson helped him wade through mountains of paper work which resulted in him being deemed 50% disabled due to Agent Orange when stationed in Viet Nam. In 1996 I suffered a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage at age 52. Even though I was in ICU and under the care of a Neurosurgeon, Dr. Swanson came to visit me in ICU and reassure me. Years later I needed major spine surgery involving extensive tests since no cause was ever found for the brain hemorrhage. He was extremely cautious, referring me for all sorts of tests prior to agreeing to the surgery. Due to his persistence in checking out every angle, I was found to have a rare connective tissue disorder as well as multi-sensory imbalance disorder. He helped me go out-of -network to be examined and tested at CU Medical school by the top specialists in each disorder. Due to Dr. Swanson's thorough and persistent efforts, I found out the causes of chronic medical problems I have had all my life. He has been an advocate for both of us during multiple crises and kept us living a good quality of life in spite of conditions which could not be avoided. We hope he does not retire untill we have graduated to a painfree existence in Heaven!
