Steve Rex is the best primary care physician I have ever had the privilege to know. It is hard to put into words his humor, warmth, friendliness, and ability to listen and hear me. I had reluctantly gone to another physician when he decided to go to concierge medicine. That doctor also went concierge. So I ask Steve if I could come back to his practice. Although his practice was full, his immediate response was, "I know Bill and I want him to come back." I think the most important aspect of our relationship is trust--so complete that I have shared intimate, even difficult aspects of my life. He has invariably been empathetic and offered outstanding medical and behavioral recommendations. Now I take in fresh figs in the summer for Steve and his staff. Steve and I have great conversations and laugh a lot. And, at the beginning and end of visits, we feel comfortable with a buddy hug. This means he's more than a doctor or friend. He is like a brother. I wouldn't want anyone else as my primary care go-to guy.
