Dear Dr. Rai, Have a wonderful National Doctors’ Day 🎈 How exciting to be king for a day 👑 Now you know I’m an aspiring writer so I hope you don’t mind me writing a book about how lucky we are to have you in our lives. Get ready because Dale and I are going to gush a little about you so don’t get embarrassed. Can you believe I actually have 2,000 characters remaining so I could go on and on about you but all joking aside, if we only had 66 characters to sum up what you mean to us it would be... “We love and trust you completely. You, our dear friend are the best!” Dr. Rai has been our family doctor for 17 years. He was in a different practice and we followed him when he joined MDVIP. Through out all those years he has been family to us. Our only child/son passed away several years ago very unexpectedly and Dr. Rai was one the first people to call and check on us. He offered comfort and support in any way we needed from just listening to us as we grieved with a strong shoulder to lean on and some wonderful words of encouragement knowing how difficult it is for parents to lose a child and also helping us find a wonderful grief therapist. Several months ago I had to have a double mastectomy. Dr. Rai referred me to a wonderful breast surgeon/oncology team at Stanford Oncology Medical Center on Samaritan Drive in San Jose, CA. Dr. Rai would often call me after he received copies of my medical records to ask if we understood everything or did we have questions. Dr. Rai understood the difficulties of going to such a large medical center and seeing so many different doctors and how overwhelming it could be after always having him as our number one! Soooo...As you may now understand the fondness and love we have for Dr. Rai. He is not only a great doctor but also a unique and just an overall good guy. Now onto his medical practice... My husband and I usually have our appointments together. After 39 years of marriage we always like to hear Dr. Rai’s explanation of each other’s “getting older” aches, pains and general complaints! From the moment you walk into the office you are welcomed by Gaby, always with a smile on her face. She is such a joyful person and so funny. They do such a great job scheduling appointments that there is seldom any other patients in the office. Waiting time is less than 10 minutes but Gaby is working away getting our vitals so time flys and we are laughing the entire time! Within minutes Dr. Rai comes into the room with a warm smile and hug. He has a wicked sense of humor and wonderful bedside manner and that’s comforting. He listens carefully and explains things in terms you understand. He spends so much time with us and never makes us feel hurried. When you have an appointment with Dr. Rai you can be assured that you, as his patient, have his full attention and can feel guaranteed you are his only priority at the time. Dr. Rai always makes himself available and you can typically get an appointment within a day. By using the MDVIP Patient Portal you can send messages to Dr. Rai even if he’s not in the office. ****We sure hope MDVIP knows what an absolute treasure Dr. Rai is to their medical program. To us, he’s that one in a million that comes along once in a lifetime.
