I was given a medication new to me for a medical condition that should have been a normal issue to clear up.
Since I have to be special, I had an adverse reaction to the medication and became very sick for several days. I wound up in the hospital with severe dehydration and kidney issues.
I texted Doc on my way to the hospital and he was in contact with them from the minute I… See more

My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...
In joining MDVIP, I am excited to bring back traditional internal medicine in a personalized, private practice manner to the New River Valley Community. I value interpersonal relationships and getting to know my patients and their families, and will be able to do so even more in this model. Similar to concierge medicine practices, I also offer conveniences like same- or next-day appointments that start on time. Internal medicine used to consist of both office-based primary care and hospital medicine. I am eager to get back to admitting and caring for my MDVIP-affiliated patients when hospitalization is required at Lewis-Gale Hospital Montgomery. This continuity of care is unique in our area, and I believe incredibly valuable to patients and families.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Beato
I am a golfer. My Dr. Beato is also a golfer. This story starts at Pinehurst, I was playing golf with my wife and another couple. I was climbing out of a bunker and on my way to the green it felt like I twisted my leg a little. I didn’t think much of it and we played on.
The next day my leg swelled up. I had no idea what was going on. We traveled back to our house in Blacksburg the… See more
When I first met Dr. Beato, I was in a health crisis. I had been in and out of the hospital and misdiagnosed several times. Dr. Beato heard me. He cared. He quickly got me in to see a specialist. He also worked with me over that year to improve my health and for the first time in several years, all my lab work came back normal and good! I felt like I had a 2nd chance to live. That has meant… See more
I have a very bad familial history for cardiovascular disease, both sides. Type 2 diabetes also is prevalent on my maternal side. I have always been "athletic", fit and trim, but so was my Father who had a massive heart attack at 77 and died 8 days later. Dad had undergone a cardiac catheterization procedure 6 months prior to his attack, and was judged to have seemingly "dodged… See more
Dr. Beato. Thank you for the excellent care and always being available on short notice. You diagnosed a somewhat unusual knee issue which led to successful surgery.
I've been a MDVIP member since its inception, first in Arizona and now in Virginia. Dr Beato was my choice when I moved to Virginia. From my first visit three years ago until now, Dr Beato has had my back. He is always at the ready to answer any questions I have either on the portal or over the phone. He takes a special interest in each individual patient and makes us feel like family… See more
My Father died 10 days after a massive heart attack @ 77YO. Six months earlier he had a cardiac catheterization study, and his cardiologist told him "Looks like you've beaten your family history for cardiovascular disease." Wrong. Three years later, Mother died of a stroke @ 77YO. Type II diabetes (neither of my parents afflicted, but all my Mother's aunts and uncles - who all died of vascular… See more
