My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I am a female primary care physician with over 30 years of experience in internal medicine. I also have the privilege of providing personalized health and wellness care in a model. My office is in Center City, Philadelphia, and my patients come from the southeastern Pennsylvania region; New Jersey, as far away as Trenton and Cape May; Delaware, including Rehoboth; and even Maryland. I am on staff at both Pennsylvania Hospital and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and continue to teach residents and students as part of my commitment to educating the next generation of primary care physicians.

My goal as an internist is to partner with my patients so they can become better advocates for their healthcare needs and participate more in the medical decisions that can help them live healthier and happier lives. I manage both acute and chronic diseases and assist with end-of-life decisions. Because of my smaller practice size, I have time to closely listen to my patients and provide proactive medical recommendations and emotional support. My MDVIP-affiliated practice also offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices. My greatest asset is my ability to advocate for my patients' needs, and I am available for all of their questions and concerns. As a private doctor, I coordinate care through our complex healthcare system, and in so doing, I am able to help improve the overall wellness of my patients and limit unnecessary services. I have an honest and direct approach to communication and am sensitive to the different needs and goals of individuals.

My MDVIP-affiliated internal medicine practice has earned the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Level III Certification and has repeatedly achieved above 95% nationwide for quality. This recognition acknowledges an effective way of organizing primary care that emphasizes care coordination and communication in order to transform primary care into "what patients want it to be."

Telemedicine Option: I am also using telemedicine visits to stay connected with my patients when they are unable to see me in the office. It is easy to do, and we have maintained our momentum with preventive health goals and chronic care during difficult times.

Dr. Cohn is incredible. She is intelligent and caring. It is imperative to me to have a doctor in whom I have complete confidence. This is how I feel about Dr. Cohn. In all of the years that she has been my doctor, I have never doubted her. Even when I was out-of-town and sick, she took care of me.

from Rochelle in PA March 1, 2018 for Lillian E. Cohn, MD, FACP

Two weeks to the day, after I was a pedestrian hit by a car, I had symptoms which you recognized was a pulmonary embolism, When my husband called you, you were there for me. You spoke to me, convinced me to go to the ER, arranged for transport and called ahead to the attending on duty. My husband's awareness of my symptoms, and your intervention undoubtedly saved my life,… See more

Ive been with Lillian about 5 years now and continue to be very happy to be her patient.
She sweats the details and time with her is never rushed.
When necessary its a snap to get her by text or through the Patient Portal.
My rating is 5 stars.

Dr. Cohn has provided excellent care. She listens, is concerned and knowledgable, andf she follows up to make sure that the plan of care is effective. Her network for referrals is very good. I believe that I have benefited greatly by having her as my primary care doctor. I look forward to many many more years. Thank you Dr. Cohn.

Dr. Cohn has been my primary care physician for over 30 years. She has seen me during good times and bad. I always look forward to seeing her for my wellness exam and follow-ups and trust her evaluation of my current health.

Lillian, thank you for always making time for your patients, especially me. Last November, you were so helpful in first quickly diagnosing my shingles and then being available for additional consults and prescriptions even on Thanksgiving as I worked through it. While Im definitely looking forward to the vaccination you recommended so I can avoid a repeat experience, I wanted you to know how… See more
