My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

Since I was a child I knew I wanted to be either a teacher or a doctor. Little did I know – as a doctor you are a teacher. A doctor is your health coach, someone who educates on diet, prevention, and nutrition. A doctor motivates you to make lifestyle changes to feel better and stay healthy, makes diagnoses and educates you on your diagnoses and develops a treatment plan. I value my relationship with each patient and want your care to be a true partnership that is patient-centered. To me, that means considering not just the physical body but also understanding the emotional and spiritual being.

As a primary care physician and a hospice doctor, I have been following my passion of taking care of my patients through their life journey - from young adult until the end of life.  My gift from God is that of a caregiver, which to me is a sacred honor. Because of this view, I aim to treat all patients with respect and give them my time and attention to address all of their healthcare needs. MDVIP allows me the time to get to know each patient.  My focus will be maintaining wellness, prevention of chronic illness and coordination of care with other professionals.

My goal as your doctor is to stay clinically relevant, yet push the boundaries of the field of nutrition and alternative medicines. For instance, I recently trained with the Institute of Functional Medicine in the "Reversal of Cognitive Decline" and applications of functional medicine in clinical practice. While there is much more to learn, I am expanding my training to enhance my ability to provide coaching in anti-aging, as well as trying to reverse chronic disease or cognitive issues using a more natural approach.

MDVIP allows me to practice medicine the old-fashioned way. I will know each patient personally and will be able to review all aspects of the clinical care. My role as your coach and advisor will be to optimize your health and keep you out of the hospital. I will help you achieve this goal as I will be available to you when and if you need me. Together, I see a great future ahead of us! It is truly a privilege to be a doctor!

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Christina

from Marsha in TX March 13, 2020 for Melanie Christina, MD, FACP

When my husband was critically ill for several years, I learned the value of having a doctor that uplifted us both, provided hope and was a ray of sunshine. I found such a doctor for myself in Dr. Christina. She is very caring, thorough, all the while being so human, relatable and she has a great sense of humor. Often going to the doctor can be stressful and can cause anxiety. That is never… See more

My nephew, William and his four year old daughter came to Dallas from Chicago to visit "Auntie M".
He had been ill before he came and went to the emergency room in his suburb and received treatment. All was supposed to be well.
They flew in to Dallas and we took them to the Dallas Arboretum to see the Children's Garden. We were there for a couple of hours when I… See more

Before Dr. Christina chose to go with MDVIP she was already a caring, kind, professional, fun, thorough physician. She has not changed her demeanor or care for her patients, but I think the change has given her more freedom and quality time in her own life and with her patients. She is not trying to keep up with an overloaded schedule. She is able to do more testing which is very important to… See more

Dr. Christina has been a God send for me. I came to Dallas in 2017, I didn't have a Dr. and my employer referred me to her practice, she has been a superb provider for my health. I had an ongoing issue, she nipped it in the bud immediately. Dr. Christina is such a compassionate person, everyone is not created to be a doctor; I believe Dr. Christina was. I just love her to pieces.

from Thomas in TX March 10, 2020 for Melanie Christina, MD, FACP

It's not one story it's many but they all had one main theme Dr Christina is and has always there at the crucial time of need. When Linda was in the hospital for major surgery Dr Christina was there to oversee the emergency surgery to make sure of her survival and care. When I needed medical attention for many medical issues Dr Christina has always been there to advise and care for our health… See more
