My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

I feel extremely blessed to have had the career that I have, serving the area I live in since 1994. I am deeply invested in my patient’s physical and emotional well-being and as a result have developed many close relationships. I cannot imagine my professional life could be any more gratifying.

I strongly believe in treating each patient in a very personalized manner. This can only be done by being truly interested in and spending whatever time is required to understand the factors that play a part in one’s health. I have a particular interest in the impact emotional health has on physical health and spend a good deal of time discussing stress management and mindfulness. I am constantly try to learn more about ways to motivate patients to develop healthy habits. I have always tried to be as accommodating as possible. For years, many patients have had my cell phone number and have been able to contact me directly. To that end, I am very excited to be able to provide  care with the MDVIP model, which allows for more time with patients and resources to focus more on disease prevention.  My MDVIP-affiliated practice offers services, including comprehensive, advanced health screenings and diagnostic tests, that go far beyond those found in concierge medicine practices.

I currently have privileges and admit patients to the two major teaching hospitals in New Brunswick; RWJ Barnabus and Saint Peters University Hospitals. Many internists no longer do rounds, but I feel it is crucial to maintain continuity of care through hospitalizations and to also maintain the skills that are required to care for acutely ill patients. I have been acknowledged for many years by New Jersey Monthly magazine as a Top Doctor.

Telemedicine Option: I am also using telemedicine visits to stay connected with my patients when they are unable to see me in the office. It is easy to do, and we have maintained our momentum with preventive health goals and chronic care during difficult times.

Testimonials from patients of Dr. Yager

from Frank in NJ March 13, 2020 for Scott Yager, MD

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Yager for over 30 years from the time we were in Old Bridge until the present. We followed him to his private practice in East Brunswick when he left his Old Bridge group along with our daughter, Tracey. When he made his decision to join MDVIP it was an automatic yes to follow him again.

My husband and I have been Dr. Yager's patients for over 20 years and with that said, there is not one particular story only one particular Doctor. Dr. Yager is the kind of doctor who really gives his patients the time and care they need. He is a doctor who truly cares about his patience both physically and emotionally. He makes himself accessible at all times whenever you need him. He… See more

I had been contemplating changing my Cardiologist. I had discussed my care with Dr. Yeager. When my Cardiologist and I disagreed, I called Dr. Yeager. He returned my call within minutes. He asked where I was. I told him I would pass his office on my way home. He suggested I stop in his office immediately. He took the time to explain my options. I found it extraordinary that he was… See more
