My Philosophy and Approach to Wellness...

One of the most important concepts I have realized in twenty-eight years of practicing internal medicine is that providing excellent care involves knowing the patient as a person and not solely as a list of medical diagnoses. While I am very well experienced in managing multiple and complex health problems, time limitations in the office have hindered my ability to know the person as well as I can in order to tailor an individual health care plan. There are so many factors which influence one's health. It is important to listen to the patient and work together to achieve optimal health for each person. This approach gets lost when appointments are rushed, too short or too far apart. This is the primary reason I am excited to transition my practice to an MDVIP-affiliated practice; to be able to spend more time with patients and form a strong partnership.

Even though my specialty is internal medicine, I have a strong interest in preventive care, which allows a proactive approach to avoid problems rather than reacting to complications afterwards. This goes hand in hand with my other interest, sports medicine. It is wonderful to live in Colorado where there are so many opportunities to stay active. Personalizing health care is rewarding for both the patient and the physician. As your advocate, I will work diligently to ensure you receive optimum treatment in order to achieve your goals.
