My wife & I (in 60s & 70s) just moved back to Salt Lake City late last year and we both needed to find a new PCP - ideally one we could both agree upon. I did some research and, among other possibilities, found the MDVIP service. Digging deeper, I found a physician, Dr. Celeste Peterson, who seemed to have very good experience, reviews and tended to treat her patients in a wholistic manner. While my wife didn't necessarily agree with the need for MDVIP, we both decided to sign up w/ Dr Peterson. It turned out to be, as my wife put it, 'the best decision we ever made' (other than marrying each other, of course. ;-) I had just gotten a total hip joint replacement before our first appointment with Dr Peterson. She seemed to ask excellent questions and listened carefully to our lifestyle needs and activities. Also, she seemed to do this in a relaxed yet caring manner. Upon her initial exam of myself, she stopped while examining my abdomen. She paused and felt around, exuding concern on her face. When she finished, I asked her 'what's up?' She told me directly that it looked like I had an Abdominal Aneurysm and that it may need immediate attention. She set me up with a highly recommended Vascular Surgeon for further exam. After a plethora of tests by the Vascular Surgeon team (CT Scan, ...), they concluded that she was right and I needed immediate surgery. Doing some online research, I found that rupture of an Abdominal Aneurysm is a common and life threatening event. The MDs and Radiologists were amazed that Dr Peterson had just found it through a physical exam. They referred to her ability to discovery the Aneurysm as 'Old School' as, usually, sufferers would wait until rupture w/ severe pain and possible life-threatening consequences. Pre and Post surgery, Dr Peterson was always there. Allowing me to call her directly anytime and/or her office as needed. I had some rather significant complications and needs for followup that she and her office responded to quickly and expertly. One especially bad evening, she called me twice during the night to make sure things were going OK. Bottom line, Dr Peterson, in all probability, saved my life! As my wife said, choosing her and MDVIP was probably The Best Decision We've Ever Made. Thank you Dr Peterson and your office - you're life-savers.
