My Mother, Elizabeth Hovsepian, is a patient of Dr. Matthew Kulka along with my husband and myself.

My Mother is 98 years young; however, she isn't your normal 98 year old. Up until a few years ago, my Mom used to bowl twice a week and had a personal trainer 3 times a week. My Mom is someone who doesn't stop. This characteristic is both good and bad. She gets ahead of herself which led to a fall a few years ago. The rehab facility which she went to to recuperate was astonished how well she bounced back and attributed it to her training with a trainer and being active. My Mom is now using a walker, but still has the same drive and stamina. She walks up and down our street to keep herself fit. She truly is amazing.

In September, my Mom was coming down our stairs and missed the last step. I attribute this to her "getting ahead of herself" as she was so excited to show me a book her great grandson had made for her. My Mom fractured her C2 in her neck and broke her wrist, which required two surgeries consisting of plates and screws to repair her wrist.

Here is where Dr. Kulka comes in.... My Mom adores Dr. Kulka, as we do also. He is so knowledgable and caring and also has an amazing staff. My Mom was in the hospital after her fall. Of course she was frightened and concerned about her well being. Dr. Kulka visited my Mom in the hospital and gave her such reassurance. He spent time with my Mom and made her feel so at ease with all she was going through. It is these small, yet momentous things that Dr. Kulka does on a regular basis. He continued to call me to see how Mom was and was always willing to help any way he could as her physician.

My Mom has now healed and is back to being herself. With Dr. Kulka's visit and concern, he made a traumatic experience for my Mom less stressful all while making sure she was well taken care of medically.
